Mar 13, 2006 (newstodate): The Serbian carrier JAT will reportedly receive its first Boeing 767-200ER aircraft very soon in time for the launch of its new route to New York from May 17, 2006.
It remains uncertain how JAT can operate the routes, as Serbia is still rated by FAA as a category 2 country that is not allowed to set up routes into US airspace.
One month later JAT also plans to start operations to Toronto, Canada, with ambitions for a second US route to Chicago before the end of the year.
