Mar 20, 2006 (newstodate): Emirates' decision to postpone the launch of its planned route from Dubai to Copenhagen Airport has raised hopes in competing Stockholm Arlanda Airports.
The carrier had set October 2006 for the start of operations to Scandinavia, but later decided to delay the start.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport would be eager to see Emirates switch operations instead to Sweden, but there seems to be little ground for optimism.
-Though we have postponed our plans to fly to Copenhagen, they have not been cancelled and we expect Emirates will start services during 2007, says Mike Simon, Emirates senior VP corporate communications.
