Mar 28, 2006 (newstodate): DHL is seeing great prospects for operations in Russia.
In May, 2005, DHL completed the construction of a new parcel sorting center in Samara with a daily capacity of handling 100 tonnes of shipments.
Samara was selected due to its geographical location in the middle of Russia enabling it to serve both the economically developed Volga region, and Moscow.
DHL further plans to set up a network of terminals across Russia, with Ekaterinburg and Novisibirsk next in the pipeline, sources say.
