Mar 14, 2006 (newstodate): Baltia Airlines has once again confirmed its plans for a start later this year of planned cargo and passenger services between New York JFK and St Petersburg.
The carrier will lease a Boeing 747 aircraft, and plans to offer once-weekly services during the first four to six weeks, later increasing to three weekly services and, after the first six months, to five to seven weekly flights.
Air cargo services will from the outset be considered a key business, budgetted to contribute 25 percent of total revenues as the carrier will be alone in offering direct non-stop services between the two markets.
Latvian-born Igor Dmitrowsky will serve as the carrier's chairman and president, while Hans G. Wolf will serve as Director of Cargo Handling.
