Mar 2, 2006 (newstodate): On March 1, Armenia became Eurocontrol's 36th member state.
Armenia has been a member of the international civil aviation community since 1992, when it joined ICAO, and in 1996 was one of the first former Soviet Republics to become a member of ECAC.
In co-operation with Eurocontrol, Armenia has developed a master plan for the modernisation of its air traffic control services.
Eurocontrol now comprises Albania, Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
