The Kazakh prime minister that recently confirmed the plans for new aircraft acquisitions also says the country has a strong need for new regional aircraft and regional airlines to support the development of Air Astana's international traffic.
Set up in 2001, Air Astana currently operates a fleet of 11 aircraft comprising one Boeing-737-800, two Boeing 737-700, three Boeing 757-200, and five Fokker-50 aircraft.
