Mar 30, 2006 (newstodate): While still silent on the outcome of the tender for 22 long-range aircraft for Aeroflot, the company is now reportedly planning to acquire seven Airbus A320 family aircraft and 30 RRJs between 2008 and 2015.
The new Airbus aircraft will replace Aeroflot's TU-154M aircraft that will instead be transferred to the carrier's subsidiaries, Aeroflot-Nord and Aeroflot-Don.
With this decision, Aeroflot still rides both horses, having earlier agreed with Boeing on the delivery of six MD-11F aircraft, reportedly leaving the Boeing 787/Airbus A350 issue pending till the end of next month.
