Feb 3, 2006 (newstodate): At a meeting on February 2, the Bulgarian government confirmed its plans for privatisation of Bulgaria Air.
Sources say the Scandinavian carrier SAS and Austrian Airlines have aired interest in taking over the stake of the airline, as has the Bulgarian carrier Hemus Air.
The decision on sales of 99.99 percent of the shares in Bulgaria Air must be confirmed by the Bulgarian parliament, after which at least three months are required for completion of the tender process.
