Feb 6, 2006 (newstodate): The Vnukovo-based Russian airline, Atlant-Soyuz is planning for a major shift to a western aircraft fleet this year.
The carrier plans to take in six leased Boeing 737-300 aircraft, and to acquire a batch of six Embraer 120.
The aircraft are slated for delivery before the summer season.
Atlant-Soyuz has earlier signed a contract with the leasing company Ilyushin Finance for delivery of two IL-96-400T, with the first to arrive by the end of this year, and the second to follow by the end of 2007.
Atlant-Soyuz plans to build its freighter fleet to a total of 16 aircraft by 2008, including one IL-96-300, two IL-96-400T, four AN-124-100, one AN-124-100M, two TU-204C, and six IL-76 freighters.
