Feb 10, 2006 (newstodate): Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific Airways has decided to postpone the launch of its new route to Moscow, continuing to Manchester.
The route was announced in December, 2005, and was slated to start by the introduction of the summer schedule, effective March 27, 2006.
The completion of regulatory formalities regarding Manchester is, however, taking longer than originally anticipated, and plans are now to launch the route later in 2006.
Since June 2, 2004, Cathay Pacific has operated a codeshare service between Hong Kong and Moscow together with and operated by Aeroflot, and the planned new CX operation will also fall under the code-share agreement.
