Feb 27, 2006 (newstodate): On February 20, Ukraine International Airlines received its 12th Boeing 737 aircraft.
The 733-400 has been acquired under a lease agreement with GECAS as the first of three new aircraft to be added to the airline's fleet in 2006.
Within the next six weeks UIA is planning the arrival of two Boeing 737-500 aircraft from Boeing Capital Corporation.
The fleet expapnsion will allow the carrier to increase frequency of services on core routes to Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin, Barcelona, Madrid, Vienna, Dubai, Kuwait, and London, as well as the opening of new routes in 2006 from Kiev to Milan and Dusseldorf.
