Feb 14, 2006 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo is seeing brisk business and strong growth in the Czech air cargo market.
Lufthansa now operates daily trucking services between Prague and Frankfurt, and in 2004 alone more than 400 additional trucks were deployed on the route.
Trucks also operate between Prague and Munich five times weekly, and the Prague route now linked with Bratislava has been extended into Slovakia as well.
According to Lufthansa Cargo, the company's import/export ratio has developed from 75/25 in 2005, to 55/45 in 2005.
Besides the trucking service, Lufthansa Cargo also utilises capacity on DHL's five weekly freighter services to Frankfurt, and this now constitutes one-third of the company's total cargo volumes from Prague.
