Feb 27, 2006 (newstodate): Kazakhstan want to end the use of all Soviet-built aircraft by 2008, replacing them with western-built aircraft.
The country's Ministry of Transport and Communications is currently working out a set of measures to stimulate the airliness to update their fleets, the Kazakh minister has told local press.
Kazakhstan will now revoke the operational status of all AN-24, YAK-40, and TU-134 aircraft from operation, and 282 aircraft of these types have already been grounded as they do not meet today's flight safety requirements.
