Feb 9, 2006 (newstodate): The Finnair Group has revealed its January figures, proving a sustained increase in cargo performance.
Over-all cargo volumes increased by four percent to 6,658 tonnes in January, as earlier boosted by the Far Eastern trafic where volumes grew by 25.4 percent to 3,100 tonnes - now constituting about half of the total volumes.
No other sector contributed positively to the overall growth; Europe was down 0.6 percent, North Atlantic traffic was down 18.6 percent, leisure trafic cargo dropped 15.2 percent, and domestic cargo fell by 5.3 percent.
Cargo on Finnair Cargo's freighter arrangements was also down by 20.7 percent, to a mere 811 tonnes in January.
