Feb 27, 2006 (newstodate): After a tender, The Danish regional airline DAT has won a contract with Post Denmark for postal services to Bornholm in the Baltic Sea.
Under the existing contract, now expiring, the carrier operates an ATR-75 full-freighter.
The night service is provided six times per week, and the aircraft normally carries a total of 4.5 tonnes of mail and parcels, with two-thirds from Copenhagen, and the remaining one-third from Ronne, Bornholm.
DAT also provides 32 weekly passenger flights between Copenhagen and Ronne.
After winning the tender for another three years of postal services, DAT will now market its freight capacity on passenger and cargo flights to integrators in the market, and has already signed a contract with Jetpak for capacity between the two destinations.
