Feb 28, 2006 (newstodate): Danish regional carrier DAT expects to receive its first jet aircraft, a Fokker 100 by June 1.
Currently operating a fleet of turboprop passenger and cargo aircraft, the airline has selected the Fokker 100 as this aircraft provides a flexible back-up to aircraft of the size of Boeing 737.
DAT intends to offer the Fokker 100, to be based at Copenhagen Airport, on an ad-hoc lease basis as well as for charter operations, and if well received by the market DAT intends to acquire one additional Fokker 100.
-We are currently talking to three potential providers of the Fokker 100 aircraft, and expect to sign a contract with one of these very soon, says Ole Christiansen, DAT sales & operations manager.
