Feb 1, 2006 (newstodate): Despite a healthy growth in imports during January, Billund Airport came off to a slow start with an overall decline in volumes by 10 percent.
In total the airport generated 4,581 tonnes of cargo against 4,581 tonnes in January 2005.
The decline, however, reflects the unusual loads in January 2005 that was marked by many Tsunami relief flights that upped volumes by 44.8 percent against the preceding year.
In January 2006 the airport noted 1,924 tonnes of exports, down 26.6 percent, and 2,198 tonnes of imports that were up by 12.1 percent.
