Feb 14, 2006 (newstodate): There is definitely a market for freighter services from Finland, says Aeroflot Cargo.
-Until last year, Aeroflot succesfully operated thrice-weekly DC-10 freighter services between Moscow and Helsinki, but we had to suspend this service due to problems with the Russian customs in Moscow, says Alexander Piven, Aeroflot cargo manager Finland.
-Another reason for the suspension was, admittedly, a temporary decrease in demand by the Finnish air cargo market.
-I am however confident that the demand is rising again, and in the meantime we keep the service open with ad-hoc flights to and from Helsinki by Aeroflot DC-10 freighters scheduled for technical maintenance service by Finnair.
-As the Russian customs problems have now been solved, my hope is that we will be able to resume scheduled freighter services again within some months from now, says Mr Piven.
