Dec 13, 2006 (newstodate): Serbia and Canada have drafted an air services agreement paving the road for direct flights between the two countries.
When ratified by the respective governments, the agreement will allow airlines from Serbia and Canada to operate to any destination in either country and over the territories of both countries en-route to other destinations in third countries.
JAT has long planned to open flights to Toronto from Belgrade, but these plans remain on hold till the country's air safety has been upgraded by the US FAA, which will open the venue for flights into US destinations as well.
FAA has not revised its air safety assements since May this year.
