Dec 1, 2006 (newstodate): From November 15, Koltsovo Airport, Russia's fifth largest, has been upgraded to CAT I, allowing it to operated under adverse weather conditions.
The project has comprised resurfacing of the runway and installation of a new airfield lighting system.
In 2007 the airport will start construction of its third runway and extension of its current 2,500 and 3,012 runways, with projects to be completed by 2009.
A new air cargo and logistics facility is also under construction.
