Dec 15, 2006 (newstodate): Air cargo lifted on ramp loaded freighter will continue to increase above world average.
-The volume of cargo transported on ramp loaded freighters currently accounts for 1.5 percent of the total USD59 million air cargo market but this will grow to seven percent or USD7.2 billion by the year 2030, says Alexey Isaikin, Volga-Dnepr Group president.
As one example, the AN-124 freighter market has grown by 10-12 percent since 1992, compared to the overall market gain at 6.3 percent, primarily driven by growth in business from the oil and gas sector, heavy and light industries, aerospace companies, and aid and relief operations.
