Dec 14, 2006 (newstodate): Ryanair is reportedly mulling plans for new low-cost routes to Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
If plans materialise, the start of the new routes would be August, 2007, connecting Plovdiv with yet-unannounced destinations in Germany, Italy and Spain.
Plovdiv is Bulgaria's second-largest city, served by Plovdiv International Airport with a 2,500 m runway.
In 2006 the airport was being readied for privatisation in a tender process planned to be opened before the end of this year.
