Dec 5, 2006 (newstodate): Beginning January 22, 2007, Lithuanian airport Kaunas will receive a new Swedish operator.
Flying for Swedish company Stockholmsplanet, the carrier Aviatrans Nordic will start operating a new route between Vaxjo Smaaland Airport and Kaunas.
The twice-weekly operation will be performed with Aviatans Nordic's SAAB 340 aircraft of which the carrier has a total of five.
A number of large Swedish companies are located in the region, including first of all IKEA that cooperates with Klaipedos Mediena, a Lithuanian furniture manufactuer in the region.
