Dec 11, 2006 (newstodate): Lack of heated hangars in Mongolia's harsh climate caused an Aero Mongolia Fokker 100 aircraft to return to Chinggis Khaan International Airport shortly after take-off from Ulan Bataar.
A frozen altimeter gauge activated the ejection of passengers' oxygen masks, and the pilot decided to land again.
Privately-owned Aero Mongolia, established in 2002, operates flights to Irkutsk, Russia, Cheongju, South Korea, and Huhe Hot, China, as well as a range of domestic destinations.
In the fleet are two Fokker 100 and two Fokker 50 aircraft.
