Dec 1, 2006 (newstodate): Sweden's IATA export air cargo market increased by 11.5 percent during the first nine months of this year, reacing a total of 86,055 tonnes.
According to CASS Nordic figures, all markets were on the increase, except exports to Central America and the Caribbeans, down 25.2 percent to 2,880 tonnes, and Europe, down 1.3 percent to 4,204 tonnes.
North American IATA cargo exports remained Sweden's largest, comprising 32 percent of totals but up only 0.1 percent to 21,510 tonnes.
Growth was especially driven by an increase at 32.1 percent to South Asia, 10,093 tonnes, and to China, up 25.1 percent to 8,734 tonnes.
IATA exports to the Middle East was up 5.3 percent to 7,224 tonnes, and South East Asian exports were up 22.5 percent to 6,559 tonnes.
In January-September 2006 the total Scandinavian IATA cargo volume was 181,202 tonnes, 47.5 percent of which was generated by the Swedish market.
