Dec 8, 2006 (newstodate): Estonia's Ministry of Economy and Communications has taken the initiative to probe the potentials for an airlink between Tallinn and St Petersburg, Russia.
-Although the flying time between the two cities is even shorter than the 35 minutes between Tallinn and Helsinki, we still consider it only natural that there should be an air connection to Tallinn's neighbouring big cities, says Anu Moistlik, spokeswoman for the ministry.
-The idea is still in its infancy, but we are currently negotiating with various airlines to seek their reponse and see what they may propose.
-In the end it is about suitable aircraft types and frequencies, but it remains a goal for us to look into this project for an air connection, says Ms Moistlik.
