Dec 8, 2006 (newstodate): The Scandinavian airline, SAS has suffered a major prestige blow as the Danish state has selected Finnair as its duty and official air travel provider between Copenhagen and Beijing.
The new two-year contract follows on an earlier contract covering state-procured flights between Copenhagen and Helsinki.
SAS operates a daily Airbus A340-300 flight to Beijing, and Finnair operates six MD-11 flights during the winter and seven flights during the summer time table.
-Finnair is very satisfied with the agreement. The choice shows that Finnair truly has the best connections between Scandinavia and Asia, says Sari Fairchild, Finnair sales manager in Denmark.
