Dec 6, 2006 (newstodate): To enhance its position in the Central European region, Prague Airport will continue to increase runway traffic capacity.
Compared to a total of 38 takeoffs and landings per hour recorded in 2005, this year the total will reach 40 movements per hour, an increase by five percentage points.
This figure will increase to 42 in 2007,and the airport plans to reach the maximum 46 movements per hour by 2009.
-It is necessary to construct new parallel runways for the further development of the airport. And thus we are approaching the preparation of the project very conscientiously, currently preparing documentation for environmental impact assessments regarding the construction, says Hana Cernochova, Prague Airport general manager.
