Dec 14, 2006 (newstodate): As the latest, prolonged deadline for Aeroflot's decision on acquisition of 22 Boeing 767 Dreamliners has expired, speculations are again rising on the eventuel choice between the Boeing and the Airbus alternative.
In contrast to the time around the earlier deadline, Airbus has now re-entered the scene with an upgraded Airbus A350 option that lends credibility to the company's ability to deliver.
The carrier will eventually need up to 44 aircraft in the longhaul segment, and long ago closed its initial tender without naming a winner yet.
