Dec 19, 2006 (newstodate): British Airways World Cargo is happy with the new cooperation with Coyne Airways over traffic to Tblisi.
The carrier has added a weekly stop at Tblisi, lifting Coyne Airways shipments from London Stansted and Cologne for onward distribution by Coyne Airways' regional freighter services to Aktau, Atyrau and Uralsk, serving the oil drilling and exploration fields.
-This additional freighter stop makes sound business sense for both parties and crucially allows us to pick up meaningful cargo, predominantly oil and gas equipment and heavy
machinery, for the eastbound leg of our Far East-Europe services, says Warren Tempest, BA World Cargo Revenue Development Manager, Freighters, Asia Pacific and Southern.
-The east-west trade imbalance remains a very real issue for all carriers but our network strength and flexibility ensures that we are in an excellent position to go some way to addressing the disparity, he says.
