Nov 10, 2006 (newstodate): Based at Copenhagen Airport, WFS Denmark sees great potentials in Scandinavia.
-We expect to close our first year of operations at Copenhagen Airport, our first Scandinavian foothold, with more than 10,000 tonnes handled, and this is expected to increase to about 40,000 tonnes by the end of 2007, indicating a market share at some 15 percent, says Yves Pinoy, WFS RVP operations and SVP strategic planning Europe.
-We opened our new facility only in May this year and have since seen a strong influx of airline customers, with Korean Air Cargo to follow by the start of next year.
-As the design capacity of this cargo terminal is about 50,000 tonnes per year, we might soon consider starting work on preparing for a next phase of construction on the adjacent land reserved for this purpose, he says.
-Besides serving our airline customers, our aspirations also include a closer cooperation with other parties including airfreight forwarders that might find it attractive to locate offices on our premises, says Mr Pinoy.
