Nov 29, 2006 (newstodate): The Ukrainean state had decided to upgrade Donetsk International Airport.
Fundings have now been reserved for the reconstruction, extension and technical re-equipment of the communal-owned airport, the home base of Donbassaero.
Donetsk International Airport, with a 2,484 m runway, was constructed at the end of the 1940'ies and last renovated in 1973.
Among foreign airlines serving the airport are Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, and domestic flights are provided by Donbassaero and Aerosvit.
