Nov 22, 2006 (newstodate): The new Habom aircraft maintenance project in Istanbul, Turkey, is seeing Russia and CIS as its primary markets.
-As a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines we are already serving carriers like Air Astana and Turkmenistan Airlines, but despite many approaches by other airlines in the region we have not been able to expand our services due to lack of slots, says a Habom spokesman.
-We have completed a feasibility study that proves very big potentials for us in these markets. We cannot unfortunately meet these demands in the current situation, but in light of the project and the construction works soon to be realised we are now selling the idea to operators in the region, and with good response, he says.
