Nov 23, 2006 (newstodate): Habom, the aircraft maintenance subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, sees aircraft P2F conversions as part of its business plan.
-We have performed a feasibility study of the potentials for cargo conversions of passenger aircraft, and we are currently talking to two potential aircraft manufacturers as potential partners, says Altug Skeli, Turkish Technic Technical Marketing and Sales Manager.
-Based on our findings, we would go for Airbus A320 family aircraft conversions, but there is also a strong interest in Airbus A310 conversions from our parent, Turkish Airlines that operates seven A310 passenger aircraft that might be converted into freighters at some point.
