Nov 8, 2006 (newstodate): The Swedish carrier Transwede Airways has signed a lease agreement with BAE Systems Regional Aircraft for three Avro RJ70.
The carrier has landed a wet-lease contract with the Italian airline Air One that will operate the aircraft to open new routes to London City Airport.
The first aircraft now delivered will be used from November 19 on a new route linking London City with Milan Linate Airport.
Deliveries of the remaining two aircraft will take place in December 2006 and January 2007, and these will be deployed on three other new Air One-routes linking London City Airport with Rome Fiumicino, Turin and Genoa, respectively.
Transwede Airways is a sister company to Sweden's Malm� Aviation, and the addition of these three RJ70 will bring the combined fleet of the two airlines to 13, including nine RJ100 and four RJ70 aircraft.
