Nov 17, 2006 (newstodate): Political pressure, rather than pure economics made Malaysia Airlines change its mind over pulling out of Stockholm Arlanda from January 15, 2007, as earlier announced.
-Our earlier decision was guided by the initial findings from our route profitability exercise. However, in response to a call from the government to reconsider our decision, we reviewed this route, Idris Jala, Malaysia Airlines managing director and CEO has told the press.
At the same time the Swedish CAA has announced a cut in airline landing charges from the turn of the year, also supporting Malaysia's decision.
