Nov 3, 2006 (newstodate): Set up in 2006, the Norwegian cargo GSA, GSA Norway is upbeat on its future growth and will announce a new contract with a major airline principal next week.
The company currently represents Asiana Cargo, Finnair Cargo, DHL, and, from November 1, Norwegian.
-Norway's fish exports account for some 80 percent of the entire export cargo volume, but the importance of general cargo, primarily ships spares and equipment for the oil industry, is indeed growing, says Tom Bertinussen, GSA Norway director sales and marketing.
-We are quite well represented as to Asian and intra-European traffics, but we do lack a coverage of the US market.
-We see a great future for the new cooperation with the low cost operator Norwegian. Some 20 destinations, including St Petersburg, are already open for cargo, and more will follow successively.
-Norwegian has outsourced its cargo business to Roadfeeders Norway, but we have been designated to serve as the carrier's GSA in the Norwegian market, and are seeing significant business already with this new customer airline, says Mr Bertinussen.
