Nov 16, 2006 (newstodate): Serb carrier JAT continues to build up its operational base at Nis, the country's third-largest city.
From November 24, 2006, JAT will introduce twice-weekly flights from Nis Constantine the Great Airport to Vienna, and, from November 28, to Stuttgart, followed by a new domestic route to Belgrade from December 8.
JAT already operates a weekly flight from Nis to Zurich, expanded to two weekly rotations from November 16.
Also on the drawing board are new routes from Nis to Frankfurt and Basel.
Nis Constantine the Great Airport was re-opened after years of civil wars on October 12, 2003, and generated about 27,000 passengers and 450 tonnes of air cargo in 2005.
