Thus, Fons Eignarhaldsfelag, the Icelandic investment company, has signed a binding agreement to acquire a majority shareholding in Astraeus, the niche UK airline based at London Gatwick with Aberdeen Asset Management and Astraeus Management.
Fons is also behind the Icelandic low-bost operator Icelandic Express that is planning a major expansion in routes from next year.
