Nov 29, 2006 (newstodate): Denmark's IATA freight volumes have declined in this year's first three quarters.
CASS Nordics' statistics reveal a decline in the Danish market by 4.5 percent y-o-y, to a total of 48,440 tonnes during January-September 2006.
This compares to an increase by 11.5 percent to 86,055 tonnes in the Swedish market, and by 1.1 percent to 46,707 tonnes in Norway.
North America was still Denmark's single largest IATA cargo market, comprising 28.9 percent of the total volume, but decreasing by 0.9 percent to 13,980 tonnes during the period.
On the increase was IATA air cargo to South America, up 4.8 percent to 1,919 tonnes, to the Middle East, up 16.8 tonnes to 4,400 tones, to China, up 3.1 percent to 5,734 tones, and to SW Pacific, up 15.3 percent to 3,965 tonnes.
The performance of Denmark's IATA cargo volumes during the last quarter of this year will reflect the addition of Air China's freighter service to Copenhagen from late September, but also the shortfall of two Korean Air Cargo flights that were moved from Copenhagen Airport to Stockholm Arlanda Airport from late August.
