Nov 23, 2006 (newstodate): Finnair Technical Services and Finncomm Airlines have signed an agreement for the maintenance support of ATR turboprop aircraft engines.
The agreement includes four ATR42-500s and seven ATR72-500s to be acquired by Finncomm in 2005-2009 as well as a possible five additional aircraft the airline has options for.
Founded in 1993, Finnish Commuter Airlines Oy, Finncomm, is a Finnish airline operating 14 domestic as feder lines for Finnair, and three international routes.
Today Finncomm Airlines operates with two Embraer 145 jets and three ATR 42-500 turboprops, while five Saab 340 aircraft are operated by Golden Air.
By the end of this year, the carrier will have four ATR 42 ircraft, and deliveries of the larger ATR 72-500 aircraft will start in the beginning of 2007.
In 2009 Finncomm Airlines' ATR fleet will consist of four 42-500 and seven 72-500 aircraft.
