Nov 8, 2006 (newstodate): The two-day strike by Finnair's cabin crew in October reflects in the cargo statistics as a decrease by 0.2 percent, y-o-y, in total volumes, 8,218 tonnes.
Most hit was the European traffic that dropped 19.7 percent to 1,881 tonnes.
The bulky Asian market, however, was still on the rise, up 8.5 percent to 4,179 tonnes.
The less voluminous North American market also grew by 37,9 percent to 751 tonnes, while cargo on scheduled freighter services dropped by six percent to 1,044 tonnes.
For this year's first 10 months Finnair Cargo reports an increase by 4.4 percent to a total of 77,654 tonnes, mainly driven by the Asian traffic that has increased by 21.7 percent to 39,248 tonnes.
