Nov 29, 2006 (newstodate): FastShip has decided to postpone its planned tender in November 2006 for 1.3 million tonnes of trans-Atlantic cargo capacity provided by the first three hi-tech JetShips.
The plans were revealed at this year's Air Cargo Forum.
-Since the press conference, we have had considerable interest expressed in capacity purchases, says Kate Chambers, FastShip spokeswoman.
-This interest has been so strong that we have deferred the start of the tender while we talk to potential significant purchasers of capacity, which will obviously influence the eventual size of the tender.
-We presently anticipate launching the tender by the end of January, says Ms Chambers.
