Nov 30, 2006 (newstodate): British Airways is now seeking to establish contact with 33,000 passengers that have traveled on three Boeing 767 aircraft found to be contaminated with radioactive materials.
The case relates to the recent death of a Russian ex-spy Alexander Litvinenko in London, allegedly caused by a radioactive agent.
The three aircraft, one of which is still held in custody at Moscow Domodedovo Airport, performed 221 European flights during November to a number of destinations.
Besides London and Moscow, these include Stockholm, Warsaw, Istanbul, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Athens, and Larnaca.
