Oct 23, 2006 (newstodate): The Ukrainean air cargo market will probably show little progress in 2006.
-At least during the first half of this year, Ukrainean air cargo exports remained unchanged against last year, while Ukraine's air cargo imports grew by five percent, says Andrey Kivorotov, Kuehne & Nagel Ukraine airfreight import manager.
-The reason behind the stagnating figures are, firstly, a general slow-down in Ukraine's economy, as well as certain political problems also limiting growth.
-It is, however, quite difficult to get a comprehensive picture of the situation as the Ukrainean government does not publish data to present valid statistics, says Mr Kivorotov.
Kuehne & Nagel is the single largest air cargo agent in the highly competitive Ukrainean market, employing a total of 500 staff in logistics, air and sea freight, domestic freight and warehousing.
