Oct 6, 2006 (newstodate): With an Aeroflot flight from Moscow, Grozny Airport in Chechnia was reopened on Thurday, October 5.
The route to Moscow is currently the only scheduled service, but the airport expects to see the launch of the first international flights by next year already.
After being almost totally destroyed during years of war, the airport, including the runway, is now completely renovated.
