Oct 27, 2006 (newstodate): Adria Airways is uprating its expections for this year's cargo volumes.
The cargo growth in 2006 is much spurrred by the introduction of so far two SAAB 340 freighters on an expanding regional cargo route network, and this will be further boosted by a planned introduction of a larger jet freighter, supposedly a BAe 146 aircraft, in the near future.
Adria Airways originally planned a 30 percent increase in this year's cargo volumes. This target was, however, met by September already.
The current forecast is that by the end of this year Adria Airways will have achieved a 40 percent increase in cargo in comparison to last year, or approximately 10 percent above earlier estimates.
In 2005 the carrier generated a total of 3,000 tonnes of air cargo.
