Oct 30, 2006 (newstodate): Strained relations between the new Republic of Montenegro and its former sister, Serbia has forced the Serb lcc Centavia to the ground.
Centavia launched flights between Belgrade, Serbia, and Podgorica, Montenegro, but has now been denied traffic rights in Montenegro after a first flight that leaves passengers to return by Serb carrier JAT instead.
-The airline has informed the European Commission and ICAO of the unfortunate development and is awaiting an official statement from the Serbian Government, Centavia says in a statement.
The now defunct route between the two destinations is so far the only scheduled service offered by Centavia.
