Oct 9, 2006 (newstodate): Polar Air Cargo is pulling out of Scandinavia as an on-line carrier.
Polar has lost the contract with DFDS Transport for flights on the once-weekly route from Malmo Sturup to Charlotte, USA, now to be replaced by Icelandair Cargo from the end of October.
Prior to the move of operations to Malmo in Demcember 2003, Polar Air Cargo served Gothenburg, Sweden, with a twice-weekly route to New York.
On November 12, 2004, Polar Air performed its last freighter flight at Oslo, suspending services after only six weeks of operations.
