Oct 9, 2006 (newstodate): Rzeszow Airport, in south-eastern Poland, has been selected for a project for a new route between Poland and New York.
A project group comprising representatives from LOT and airport and regional authorities has been formed, and summer 2007 has been set as the target date for a start of the proposed twice-weekly route.
Rzeszow Airport, currently served by LOT and Ryanair, received its Airport Certification aty the end of June this year.
The airport has Poland's second longest runway, 3.200 m.
